BDI's impact

BDI 20 Years: Part 2

Take a look at the incredible things our client partners have done!

When you look back at how much BDI has grown in the past 20 years, it’s hard to quantify it… or is it?

Sure, you could look at the number of client partners we currently serve and how that’s one way to show our growth. Or how we’ve expanded from just 4 team members (including Randy Brewer) to more than 90 employees currently on our roster.

But take a deeper look and you’ll see our greatest accomplishment has been in impact. And by that, we mean how the work we are thrilled to do both for and with our clients has led to a tremendous outpouring of generosity in cities near and far. So sit back and let us show you the huge impact our small agency has been a part of these last two decades… we promise not to throw too many numbers at you!

“When we open our hearts, let go of what is in our hands and remember that our lives, talents and our treasures belong to God and are simply on loan to us, we are ready to experience the blessings of generosity.”

– Randy Brewer, in his second book, Releasing Generosity

As a fundraising agency, our methods of speaking to donors might vary, but our goal is the same: motivate people to generously support those causes they are passionate about. During our 20-year history, we’ve seen technology expand the ways we can communicate in the marketplace, opening up new avenues of generosity and revenue streams.

We knew our client partners had raised a lot of revenue over the years, but we wanted the grand total so we decided to take a look back. We are thrilled to report we have raised more than one billion dollars since our doors first opened — and excited to make an even greater impact in the coming years.

Can I get a hallelujah?

But more than numbers, every single one of those dollars went directly to work changing lives. Helping people overcome their current challenges and giving them the resources they need to build better futures. More on that below…

BDI is humbled and honored to work with some of the most incredible nonprofits around! As of 2023, our BDI client partners have revolutionized lives, families and entire communities by providing an estimated*:

9,651,532 meals
2,390,977 nights of shelter
School supplies & gifts for 50,000 children
Education & training for 100,000 students
Support to send 667 workers to share the gospel

*Some of BDI’s client partners do not track these numbers, which are not included here. So the total impact is even greater!

What a blessing it is to see the incredible impact of our work together. We thought about creating a map to show you the communities that have been reached, but now that we have global client partners as well, it would span across the globe!

“There was a fit between Evansville Rescue Mission and BDI that we knew was going to be special… We’ve developed a relationship that has taken our Mission to completely different heights of success.”

– Tracy Gorman, President & CEO, Evansville Rescue Mission (BDI partner since 2009)

As you can see, God is doing incredible things here at BDI and through our client partners. This incredible snapshot illustrates the power that all of us have to make the world a better place, one life at a time.

Stay tuned for our final post in the series as we look ahead and prepare for the future. One thing’s for sure… I know it’s going to be even bigger and better!
