From Brewer Direct to BDI:
Looking back on the last 20 years
Brewer Direct begins.
20 years ago, Randy Brewer was searching for a way to make a difference. He sought out the counsel of trusted friends, and he was encouraged and empowered to start his own agency. Brewer Direct began with three clients: Long Beach Rescue Mission, Wheeler Mission and Kansas City Rescue Mission. Long Beach Rescue Mission believed so strongly in Randy’s vision that they financially invested in our fledgling agency – demonstrating their faith and support as a true partner.
We launch a new logo and tagline.
To represent the spirit of this growing agency and our desire to serve, Brewer Direct rolls out a new logo and tagline – “Together We Make a Difference.”
We send out our first digital fundraising appeals.
To reach new donor audiences, we launch strategic, integrated digital offerings that share our clients’ stories and life-changing work.
We begin a Wellness Program.
To celebrate our 10th anniversary, Brewer Direct reaffirms our commitment to employee work-life balance and establishes a Wellness Program to promote better health.
We grow to 25 clients and employees.
When Brewer Direct integrates with ENEX Group, we are thrilled to have new clients partner with us in their ministry – bringing us to a grand total of 25 clients and 25 employees. Their knowledge and resources also lead to the creation of what has grown to become the BDI Academy.
We have a new CEO & President.
After an intensive search, we are blessed to have Michael J. Tomlinson (better known as MT) step into the role of CEO and President. We also update our brand with a new tagline – “Releasing generosity to help a hurting world” – which reflects both BDI’s heart toward serving others and the incredible, life-changing work our clients are doing.
We win multiple AMA ECHO Awards.
BDI is thrilled and honored to receive two internationally prestigious ECHO Awards for our work with Wheeler Mission to promote their new Center for Women & Children.
We get a bold new makeover.
We execute a complete rebranding of our logo, colors, messaging and name to transition from Brewer Direct to BDI. We also move into a new office to better host our clients when they visit and house our growing team of 50 employees.
We gain new clients and help Empower them.
Idearaising joins the BDI team, which opens up partnerships with organizations in new areas of service and global outreach. We also reimagine our BDI Institute and roll out our first Empower Summit – we have 125 individuals attend, including BDI employees, vendors and clients!
