Flexible Workdays:

BDI offers a generous PTO package. Employees receive 2 weeks of vacation time each year. After 5 years of continuous employment, 3 weeks. After 10 years, 4 weeks.

BDI also offers PTO for jury duty, bereavement, a floating holiday, and sick time.

Client Partnership: Client Partnership & Business Development Specialist

Position Purpose

The Client Partnership & Business Development Specialist provides exceptional support for the BDI Client Partnership team. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Client Partnership, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities for BDI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates strong agency knowledge of agency services, systems, and processes
  • Works with SVP, Client Partnership to cultivate existing sales pipeline and development of new business opportunities
  • Conducts thorough market research to identify potential clients, emerging trends, and competitive landscape
  • Identifies and engages potential clients through various channels, including cold outreach, networking events, and industry conferences
  • Effectively sets up prospect accounts, prospect/contact activities, and enters new business project information using agency tools (such as Microsoft Dynamics and in Workfront)
  • Maintains accurate prospect data in CRM (HubSpot)
  • Participates in the creative and tactical process for the development of new business projects, proposals, and presentations
  • Work closely with the SVP, Client Partnership to develop compelling and customized proposals and presentations for potential clients
  • Collaborates with the SVP, Client Partnership to establish and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, ensuring proposals align with prospect needs and showcase BDI’s capabilities
  • Navigates and performs assigned projects within the company’s e-Tools (project management systems and creative proofing programs/applications)
  • Serves as a support contact for issues or activities that a prospect may encounter. Works and interfaces with various internal departments as needed
  • Keeps team and supervisor informed of project status and needs. Adheres to project deadlines
  • Supports the SVP, Client Partnership with material prep as requested
  • Initiates follow-up and preparation of materials following tele-conferences and prospect visits. Works with the SVP, Client Partnership to draft and distribute conference reports as requested
  • Coordinates and performs Client Partnership administrative tasks related to prospects
  • Prepares, coordinates, and mails prospect mailings
  • Prepares conference reports, and follows up on action items
  • Pursues continual learning in the direct response/fundraising and digital marketing space
  • Manages special projects or other assignments as required

  • Computer Skills: Must demonstrate proficiency in the use and knowledge of integrated computer systems and business-related software such as Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Workfront, and Dynamics and quickly learn, understand, and seamlessly implement the operation of the agency’s e-Tools
  • Excel Skills: The Client Partnership Specialist must be able to pass both the intermediate and advanced Excel assessment – demonstrating proficient formula use, an understanding of the questions data can answer, and the ability to read data within a spreadsheet. In addition, to handling the formulas, the Client Partnership Specialist should also know how to debug them, work-around them, use shortcuts, customize, audit them, and use the formulas appropriately to pursue the answers the team is requiring
  • Decision Making and Problem Solving: Must demonstrate strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative, focus, and prioritize tasks

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

Digital: Senior Digital Media Buyer/Planner

Position Purpose

The Senior Digital Media Buyer will develop media strategies, conduct research, build processes and outcomes for execution of digital media programs serving our nonprofit organizations. You are the paid media subject matter expert! You will have experience in digital media planning and buying, creating digital media plans that span across all digital channels with a focus on donor acquisition and revenue generation. You are an experienced media buyer in paid social or programmatic using a DSP.

You will collaborate with the digital strategy and client services teams creating client-facing media strategies and educating clients and colleagues on best practices. Day to day responsibilities include managing the digital media team and media partners, developing media plans and media campaign strategy documents and presentations, building and executing media campaigns in platform, attending internal meetings to assess client objectives, attending client meetings to present digital media strategies, and fielding strategy-related questions. In this role, you will provide insights on digital media program performance, suggest optimizations and CRO plans, and adjust strategic digital media plans based on client budgets and performance metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and expertise to drive long term strategy and vision including the strategic approach, processes and outcomes for the development and execution of digital media programs for nonprofit organizations of varying sizes and market verticals
  • Leads, mentors, trains and coaches the digital media team resulting in positive team growth and culture and program development ensuring excellence, innovation and maximum ROAS
  • Creates digital media plans and maintain media budgets and projections for internal teams and clients in collaboration with the digital strategy team and client services team
  • Hands on media buying in platform, executing campaigns in at least one channel: paid social, or programmatic advertising
  • Oversees management of all paid search campaigns in Google Grant, Google Ads, and Bing
  • Researches, identifies, and evaluates audience modeling and segmentation strategies in all channels
  • Researches, identifies, and evaluates emerging trends and technologies and lead the charge in developing internal capabilities ensuring that the program is innovative and generates growth
  • Develops and executes strategies across performance channels, including paid social (Meta), paid search (Google Grant, Google Ads, Bing), direct publishers, and programmatic media using a DSP like Tradedesk, StackAdapt, etc.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (client services, creative, production, finance) and external media partners to effectively manage and execute the development of digital marketing campaigns while working within agency internal process
  • Prepares regular reports and presentations for clients and senior leadership, providing insights on performance, goals, progress and growth strategies
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets campaign data to improve performance and alert client and internal teams about potential shortfalls and offer strategic shifts to meet necessary performance goals.
  • Participates in internal planning meetings and client meetings to present and answer questions related to digital strategies
  • Demonstrates thought leadership in Digital Media by speaking at industry conference seminars, and participating in podcasts, webinars and blog writing
  • Under the direction of the BDI Marketing team, selects topics and writes/records one piece of BDI Marketing content per fiscal year (Quick Shots, Inspire, Webinars, and podcasts)
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Abilities

  • Communication Skills: Strong internal and external, written, and oral, communication writing skills with internal teams, clients, prospects, and business partners. Must be collaborative and enjoy working with a team

  • Digital Media Skills: Experience with the following digital media channels: Programmatic Display, Native, Paid Search, Google Grant, Facebook / Instagram, CTV/OTT, Video, Programmatic Audio, Digital out -of-home; Adept at identifying and understanding new digital media trends and technology to be utilized in client strategies
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to juggle competing deadlines, multi-task, meet tight deadlines and support other teams as needed
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in components of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Decision Making Skills: Positive, energetic, and collaborative personality with self-starter approach to work.
  • Relationship Building Skills: Ability to manage website developers, designers and content creators providing the direction needed to assure projects meet creative and strategic objectives and deadlines on time.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or another related field

Demonstrated experience managing digital media and team development including hiring, leading, and mentoring in a fast-paced agency or marketing dept setting

5+ years of experience driving digital direct-response marketing programs with fundraising KPIs for nonprofit organizations in an agency setting or large non-profit organization

3+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in media planning, buying, leadership, and management either with an agency or through an in-house marketing team of a nonprofit organization
