Here’s how your nonprofit can leverage virtual events now and into 2022
From Lolly Colombo, EVP Client Service
As your nonprofit team sits down to plan a 2022 calendar of events, you may be wondering… what is the future of virtual events? And how do we know whether to host an event online or in person?
Well wonder no longer! According to a recent Forbes article, more than 40% of planned fundraising events in 2020 were either canceled or postponed. Going into 2021, 23.7% of respondents said they plan to run virtual events and 17.9% of respondents planned to run hybrid fundraising events at their nonprofits.
That’s a lot of online engagement coming from nonprofits today. Considering that new and returning donors have spent the last two years integrating into online communities, some donors now prefer virtual events and want the option to engage with your nonprofit online in 2022.
